Charter Fishing

We will target Lake Trout and Salmon on Lake Superior with Brown Trout, Steelhead, and walleye hitting the deck occasionally. I will show you the waters near Duluth, MN. I am a proven guide and will show you numerous techniques to provide the best fishing experience possible. My 22′ Lund Baron is equipped with the very best in electronics, sonar, autopilot, livescope, and mapping. I will show you how to use this gear, and let you set lines if that’s your goal. If all you want is to reel in fish and relax, your’re covered there too. All fishing gear and fish cleaning is provided. If you want to grab a knife and join in the cleaning, i won’t stop you.

A little history

As a lifetime angler, landing my first fish at age 3, my passion was not truly found until I first launched a boat on Lake Superior. The vast power of it’s gin clear water, the mystery, and beauty, that this lake exudes, caught me. The Captain, himself, became hooked. Moving to Duluth in 2001, truly unlocked a whole new playground.

I have now been fishing Lake Superior for 19 years. With a thirst for knowledge I have fished with all types of anglers, from charter captains of past and present, tournament anglers, novices, and weekend warriors. Everyone has insight and input. I have used all of this found wisdom, put my own spin on it and created my own unique style of fishing.

My love and passion for Lake Superior is what he wants to share with you. Several different techniques will be used as I targets multiple species of fish, the Fish of the Gitch! If you want to learn. I will teach you. If you just want a nice relaxing day of fishing, that’s great too. Sit back and enjoy it.

Fish of the Gitch is a different charter from the rest. I am constantly changing to improve your fishing experience. In past years I operated larger boats, but felt confined to too small an area. Lake Superior has too many options to be limited to one location. Now I operate a 22′ Lund Baron with a tandem axle trailer. The Lund is capable of seating up to 4 plus the captain. With this new rig, I am now free to use multiple locations along Minnesota’s North shore.

Fish move in Lake Superior. Mobility is the key to consistently catching quality fish. Many factors dictate where they will be. Being mobile allows me to be at the right place, at the right time. Come along and experience for yourself, the Fish of the Gitch difference.
